CT: Intelligent Transportation System Architecture and Standards. This regulation provides policies and procedures for implementing section 5206(e) of the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21), Public Law 105-178, 112 Stat. 457, pertaining to conformance with the National Intelligent Transportation Systems Architecture and Standards.

N: 1. ITS architecture: Reference framework describing the relations between the physical elements of transportation systems, the needs in terms of information and communications systems, the method used for data-sharing, and the listed standards for the delivery of a transportation service.
2. The Regional Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Architecture provides a long-range plan for the deployment, integration, and operation of ITS in the Memphis Urban Area. The Regional ITS Architecture allows stakeholders to plan for what they want their system to look like in the long term and then break the system into smaller pieces that can be implemented over time as funding permits.
